  • Earlier Population of Devghar village was 303 & Household 57 but due to industry expansion and migratory population total population of Devghar village is 1500.

Objectives

  • Ensure Sustainable village development by participatory approach for protection, conservation and enhancement of natural resources
  • Convergence of existing schemes by mainstreaming environmental, social and cultural considerations.

Comprehensive Waste Management Program


Comprehensive Waste Management Program at Charkop Sector-1, Ekta Nagar,Neelkanthnagar Kandiwali in association with ACG Cares Foundation, Mumbai (Nov 2016 – March 2018)

AIM

  • No littering and Plastic carry bag eradication campaign for effective waste management system through contribution of stakeholders.

Objectives

  • Capacity building of 1542 households (7710 population) for effective waste management at Kandivali of ACG.
  • Promotion of segregation at household level with workshops in 87 societies up to March 2018.
  • Distribution of 2 dustbins /society for 87 societies at Kandivali for segregation of wet and dry waste.
  • Involvement of school and women for mass awareness.

Activities

  • Training program for 30 housing societies
    30 Housing societies (30 x 35 Households) 1050Households.(1050 X 5 family members) 5250 people
  • School Training for 5 th to 8th Std (175 students)
  • IEC event for women (1000 women involved)
  • Awareness rally (350 people involved)

Water Saving Urinals Nov and Dec 2014 (500)

  • Technology is used for Conversion of existing urinal in to odour free and Water Saving Urinals. Project implemented at Sinhagad Institute engineering College.
  • Existing urinals converted: 7.
  • Central flush system.
  • One urinal used 30 persons.
  • One time flushing required: 5 Lit.
  • Environmental benefit.
  • Total water save due to Water saving urinals is: 3, 83,250 Lit. /year.
  • Odour free helps in health impact.

Green Mahabaleshwar and Clean Mahabaleshwar

A massive campaign for No spitting, No littering and Plastic carry bag free campaign for fix and floating population to streamline effective segregation and management of Solid Waste at Mahabaleshwar town. The project is funded by Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra and implemented by SESF with Mahabaleshwar Council and ABP MAZA, for creating sensitization in tourists.

  • Meeting with stakeholders like hotels, traders, residents, tourists, forest department, lake authority, NGO’s, WSHG’s, elected body, farmers and food processing units
  • Hording designs, survey of dustbins.
  • Slogan list for Mahabaleshwar.
  • Street play training and shows.
  • Involvement of ABP Maza in the project.
  • Students activities, Rally and Oath program.
  • A Carnival was organised on theme – Best out of Waste: All cultural activities was based on theme and stall were demonstrating products made out of waste.
  • A panel discussion was organised on 5th June 2015 on the occasion of World Environment Day, on presence of Honourable Chief Minister Mr Devendra Phadnvis in association with ABP MAZA.
